Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have broken up after a short, unexpected romance, according to reports out of the US.

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have broken up after just nine months, according to media reports out of the US.

The New York Post reports, the celebrity pair called it quits earlier this week after a short romance.

“Kim and Pete have decided to just be friends,” a source close to Kardashian told the publication.

“They have a lot of love and respect for each other, but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules made it really difficult to maintain a relationship.”

The duo’s age difference, Kardashian is a 41-year-old mum of four and Davidson is 28, also contributed to the break-up, according reports.

The couple recently holidayed in Queensland where Davidson has been busy working on a new film.

The couple have had a number of public spats in recent months but apparently that was nothing to do with their decision to go their separate ways.

The unexpected romance began in October last year after Kardashian hosted Saturday Night Live, the cult show where Davidson initially made a name for himself.

Kardashian was reportedly attracted to Davidson’s humour.

The Cairns Post reported last month, the couple were staying at the up-market Silky Oaks Lodge, where Davidson spent more than a month while filming Wizards!.
