They say Australia is the lucky country and, it turns out, that statement is true in more ways than one.

With 3.6 million Australians jumping between the sheets at least once a week, it’s clear that we are, indeed, a lucky bunch. Even more impressive is that a whopping 58 per cent of Aussies give their sex life a big A+.

These are just a handful of the findings body+soul uncovered during our nationwide YouGov Galaxy Poll, which revealed how often Aussies are having sex, who we’re having it with, what we think of it and what we’re willing to try.

“Sex is healthy and this survey shows that our views on it are changing,” explains our resident GP, Dr Sam Hay.

“We’re finally experimenting and having fun.”

For the most part, Aussies are happy in the bedroom, but one in four of us want sex to last longer, while one in 10 want it to be over quicker.

“It’s time to rethink your beliefs and focus on enjoying yourself more,” says b+s sexologist Jacqueline Hellyer.

Here are all the saucy details…

“I’m always surprised that people are still waiting to have sex, but then almost the same amount of people do it on the first date!” Hellyer says.

“What these results show is that in 2019, there’s a broad range of sexualities and how Aussies approach sex is very diverse.”

According to the survey, an average Australian has 10 sexual partners, while one in five have only had one lover.
