Swampy the jumping wallaby is looking for love, but she won’t find it among her own breed of marsupials.
More likely she has found the man of her dreams by hopping next door.
At least, that’s what keepers at Sydney Zoo said after noticing the swamp wallaby jump the fence, venture through the “tunnel of love” and into the wombat exhibit to mingle with Romper the wombat.
Zookeeper Tara Gunter said it wasn’t the first time Swampy had jumped into the wombat enclosure.
“This strange infatuation between the pair has been happening for over a few weeks,” she said.
“At night Swampy leaves her other friends to spend the night in the wombat’s burrow with Romper. It’s incredibly cute and rare.”
The two unsuspecting animals have definitely taken a fancy to each other, and when Swampy jumps in, the pair are united for a whirlwind romance.
If you can call growling and snorting romantic.
