“I feel like they’re impacting my life in a negative way”
Speaking to news.com.au, the Victorian mum said her involvement in “crime and drugs” was one of the influences behind her three face tattoos.
Lily’s face tattoos include a heart on her cheek, with “rotten” written underneath, and an arrow above her eyebrow.

She revealed that DC comic-book character Harley Quinn inspired her cheek tattoo, something Lily now “massively regrets”.
Her perception of her face tattoos has changed since she became a mum.
“They hold me back, especially the face ones because they are pretty unhideable,” she said.

“Since becoming a mother, I’m concerned about being easily judged,” she continued.
“For example, when I pick my daughter up from school … I just want to be the best advocate I can for her.”
The woman got her face tattoos in 2016 but has since faced trouble trying to secure employment, and has ultimately impacted her life “in a negative way”.
“The other day I had someone at the rugby ask if they should get a face tattoo,” she recalled. “And I just said not to do the face because I regret it.”

“I’m just really looking forward to the future”
Lily is planning to remove the tattoos at the end of August, signifying the start of a new chapter for the mother.
“I’m keen to have them removed as I feel like it’s impacting my life in a negative way,” she said. “I’m just really looking forward to the future.”
“I’m focused on getting my life on track, which will hopefully include employment within the retail or warehouse industries.”
The move will make her father happy, too, who isn’t a big fan of her ink. “He has always hated it,” she revealed.
Removery, the charity organising the free tattoo removal, hopes to give people their lives back “in a unique way” by offering 150 recipients the chance to have their tattoos removed free of charge.
“Everyone has a different story and reason for seeking tattoo removal or fading,” said Removery co-founder and VP of Clinical Operations Carmen VanderHeiden Brodie.
“We strongly believe that there should never be any shame or judgment in changing a tattoo.
“We’re here to help those who have had the courage to change their lives feel confident in their new path.”
