A woman has revealed that she was selected by a flight attendant to sit next to a random child, and the reason is "unheard of."
Nina, who posts under the handle Nina the Lawyer, shared a clip about being shocked by her experience on a recent Air France flight.
And it's prompted her to wonder whether she should stop sharing a particular detail about herself when she flies.

"Air France changed my seat"
Nina's clip is simply a close up of her face, with text over it reading:
"AITA? Air France changed my seat (from the one I selected next to my boyfriend) to the back of the plane because they needed a 'female' next to an ''unaccompanied minor'.
"AITA for saying it's not my responsibility and demanding they change me back?"
The clip was captioned: "Have u ever heard of this? I should start “not disclosing” next time?"
In the comments, Nina added, "Update: they refused to move my seat back because the plane was full. But they said to ask the person sitting next to my bf to switch (some guy) and he said ok so they let us switch."
She also clarified that she was mostly annoyed because they didn't initially explain the reason to her to give her a choice.
"I’d do it if asked to, but I had to speak to three different staff members asking why my seat was changed before one of them admitted this policy, so I was already confused and frustrated."

"This absolutely did not happen"
Viewers commented their outrage on the clip at Nina being 'duped' into switching seats because of her gender, and most agreed it was handled badly.
"NTA. I’m not a babysitter, I’m a paying customer," wrote one succinctly.
Another agreed, saying, "I would be irked and done at that point too. It’s crazy to do that without consent (or notice) and then force someone to try to figure out why it happened."
Others wondered why the airline would take on the responsibility and not follow through.
They also raged about the sexist policy of forcing a random woman to be appointed to a child who's not hers.
As one observed: "Did they check to see if you had working with children clearance? Or check if you’d had any alcohol?"
