‘Murder scene’: Perth boy’s nose fractured and face injured after dog attack

“It was just everywhere… indescribable… every parent's worst nightmare,” Mum Pryncess shares. Warning: Contains graphic images.

Australia's most dangerous dogs

A seven-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after a vicious dog bite.

The young boy was playing rugby with his dad at 6.30 pm on Tuesday at Charlottes Vineyard Oval in Perth when a dog attacked.

The pet, believed to be a sand-coloured bullmastiff, was on his lead at the time of the attack.

“It was … every parent’s worst nightmare”

The owner allowed the boy to pat the dog, but the dog lunged at the child before he got the chance to approach him safely. Following the attack, the owner fled the scene.

The 7yo was rushed to hospital with lacerations to his chest, cheek and forehead and a fractured nose. He required cosmetic surgery to repair his injured face.

The boy’s mother, Pryncess Adamson, described the incident as “not your normal puncture” but resembled something closer to a “murder scene.”

“It was just everywhere, indescribable, every parent's worst nightmare,” she told 9News

“We're not talking just your normal puncture, there [are] scratches all the way through his whole face.”

Mum of injured boy taught kids to be safe around dogs

Pryncess explained she taught her kids to be cautious around other people’s dogs and to “always ask before you pat.”

“They just love animals,” she added. Now her son is petrified of them.

“He's said to me a couple of times, 'I don't want to go near dogs again, I don't like dogs anymore',” she said.

She urged the owner of the dog to come forward and issued a warning to others in the area.

“I just think you can never be too careful.”
