A mum is going viral after she perfectly depicted the painful reality of Christmas when you wrap presents on the floor... and are over 40. 

In the clip, which now has 130k views and 7.3k comments, mum Darryl acts out how the common Christmas practice changes when you hit a certain age.

"The over 40 club"

In the clip, which is simply captioned, "#over40club" the mum is seen sitting in her pyjamas on the floor while wrapping gifts.

She sings along to a song while bopping her head, seemingly in her own joyous little world until... she decided to get up from the ground.

As she goes to stand up, wrapped gift in one hand, she hurts her back and you can hear a crack before she winces in pain and goes right back down.

The video is one of those oddly specific things that comes up on your For You page that makes you feel like your algorithm is getting to know you a little too intimately.

"Can confirm this is a thing"

Women have been taking to the comments to share how they no longer fall victim to wrapping presents on the floor because that's another thing about ageing - you get wiser.

"My island bench is the perfect height for me, otherwise my back just kills me," one viewer said. Another added, "And this is why I use the table now."

Others shared their similar struggles, with one writing, "This was me a few nights ago, completely accurate. Lesson learned, table wrapping only now." 

The sentiment was echoed with this: "Happened to me last night, woke up so sore like I had been hit by a truck."

One viewer had a brilliant solution: "I just gift bag everything now."

The original poster also posted a comment joking, "'And then there was this popping sound' - Me to my doctor."
