I'm sick of seeing dogs being treated like human children

"And owners calling themselves parents and the dog a baby!" Are you a pawrent? Does this sound a bit ruff to you?

Not everyone is a dog-lover. We get it.

And whilst we respect their choices, we do have to say that the people who actively dislike dogs don't know what they're missing out on.

Such as a woman online this week, who doesn't exactly say she is not a fan of dogs, but does share her frustration with seeing the animals "treated like human children."

So, essentially the same thing.

"Calling themselves parents and the dog a baby!"

Evidently frustrated with a few things in life, the woman wrote in a parenting forum:

"I am totally fed up of seeing people treat their dogs like human children. Calling themselves parents and the dog a baby."

We have to agree with that one - they should be calling themselves pawrents.

She continues, "Things like [calling] them 'my little girl'. I see my colleagues kissing their dogs on zoom while everyone hides their children in other rooms.

"For f**k's sake, they are not human, just an animal. Stop pretending that they are your children. Lol, they are not, and if you still believe that you need to visit a GP."

"Such a bitter Betty"

The poor poster was inundated with hate, and her rant was deleted. But not before screenshots were shared on social media.

"Such a bitter Betty," commented one. "It has no effect on your life whatsoever."

Another said, "And? I'd rather someone treat their dog like a baby than mistreat them! Maybe they can't have kids, and this is the next best thing? I don't have dogs myself, but I'm not opposed to people doing so... in fact my best mate's dog is classed as my canine niece and we have tea and toast together."

Some conceded that it looked unprofessional to have dogs on screen in zoom meetings, with one writing, "Yes they should be treated like dogs and properly trained, but what people choose to call their pets or behave towards them is none of your business.

"Zoom calls however should be pet and child-free."

And some pet owners admitted to understanding the poster's perspective, such as this person who wrote, "I love my dog but it's a no for me. He's our pet, much loved but not my fur baby or son, or our children's sibling.

"All the stuff OP mentioned gives me the ick, but I don't care what other people do, just don't expect me to refer to your pet as your baby."
