Girl sings to whole plane - proves how far parents will let their kids go

“I’d rather listen to the pilot telling us the plane is going down."

'Worst nightmare': Viral plane act divides world

Growing up, my grandparents always told me children should be seen and not heard.

As a kid, I thought it was incredibly cruel to place that expectation on me.

But when a TikTok of a tween girl singing Moana over the intercom during a delayed flight popped up on my For You Page — I instantly got it.

Maybe boomers have a point.

This isn't what we meant be inflight entertainment

If you haven’t seen the viral moment yet, it’s truly something you couldn’t make up.

The clip, posted by the account druziroaming, has amassed a whopping 17 million views and 83,000 comments, most of them branding the scene a nightmare.

“When your Delta flight is delayed two hours and you circle Orlando for another two. But the little girl sings Moana on the crew mic and suddenly everything feels okay,” the caption reads.

It’s important to note: the child shouldn’t be at the centre of the backlash.

This is about the adults who made the decision to hand her the intercom phone and then proceed to broadcast and preserve the moment as part of her digital footprint.

There was no need to brace for the comment section. It’s a savage nose dive.

“I’d rather be inside OceanGate,” one person comments harshly.

Another writes: “This is actually my worst nightmare and personal hell.”

“I’d rather listen to the pilot telling us the plane is going down,” a third chimes in.

Some directed blame toward the parents.

“Major side-eye to her parents. Even if it were a professional singer, I do not want to be subjected to a concert without consent,” one commenter grumbles.

A second adds: “The PARENTS should know how to read a room. Not everything should be centred around your child. She isn’t Moana. Life isn’t a Disney movie.”

If you thought sitting behind a whinging baby for an entire flight was bad, it seems like a holiday compared to poor girl who made an entire fight (and millions around the world) cringe.

Honestly, just hand them the iPad

It seems planes are slowly becoming lawless when it comes to children.

And just to be clear: I’m not talking about the parent doing their best to calm an overtired, overstimulated infant whose ears popped on takeoff. In that scenario, we should all show grace and understanding.

I’m talking about the parents who decide to turn an entire plane cabin into a live performance of How Far I’ll Go, because they believe it’s their daughter’s big break.

It might be worth remembering:  because you think your child is cute, doesn’t mean the rest of the world does. You’re only strengthening the argument for child-free flights.
