Paramedics have treated several children at a Queensland daycare centre after they were exposed to an “unknown substance” in their lunch.

Queensland Ambulance Service was called to Milestones Early Learning Centre in Keperra, in Brisbane’s northwest, at about 12.30pm on Thursday where a number of children were suffering from a range of reactions after eating their lunch.

The daycare centre reportedly sent a text message and released a letter to parents this afternoon advising parents of what happened.

The letter, obtained by News Corp, stated “all children” had been exposed to an “unknown substance in their lunch” and were having “minor reactions” according to theCourier Mail.

Reactions, the letter read included “redness to face and body, swelling to lips and face, irritation/ agitation”.

“The chances of a delayed onset of symptoms are rare,” it continued.

“If your child develops any of these symptoms, Don’t panic.”
