Aussie parents let their kid throw food all over the pub, then left

"People like this need consequences," someone said. "Either charge a cleaning fee or ban them from the premises."

How much food should a toddler eat each day?

A recent post on a popular forum has sparked a heated discussion about parents' responsibility to clean up after their kids in public places.

The poster recently witnessed an incident where a family allowed their child to create a mess inside of a pub, making no attempt to stop them, and then left the cleanup for staff.

"Is this okay now?"

Taking to the r/Australia thread, user @cruiserman_80 wrote: "A family at my local pub let their kid fling food all over the place and made zero attempt to stop them, then left it for staff to clean up."

The man then shared a photo of hot chips lying all over the floor underneath a group dining table. It looks like the best part of a whole bowl of chips and some have even been stepped on and squished into the carpet.

He asked fellow forum members: "Is this OK now?"

"This is sooo entitled"

The post now has 1.6k likes and nearly 500 comments, slamming the parents' behaviour.

"'Now'? These people have always existed. I lost track of how many times I've heard 'It's their job to clean it up' working at the movies as a kid," one person said.

"I mean, even if it is, why do you have to make it harder?"

Another shared, "This is sooo entitled."

"Grub parents raise grub children," someone else stated.

Then another mum weighed in, saying, "I hate parents like this. We went to the RSL the other day and I made sure I cleaned the high chair after we used it and I made sure the table was clean. I wouldn’t let my children throw their food around at all.

"It’s just so disrespectful and I would never expect someone else to clean up after us."

"If I worked there, I would just take down their details and ban entry to the premises. People like this need consequences," someone else suggested.

And a different commenter said, "Pubs, clubs and restaurants need to start charging a clean-up fee if patrons leave a mess like this."
