Carrie Bickmore, Fifi Box roasted for Kmart advert Aussies aren’t buying

The radio host and her famous best friend have starred in an ad for the budget retailer – but Aussies have spotted a huge problem with the video.

Carrie's 'cringe' Kmart ad savagely roasted

Carrie Bickmore and her famous best friend Fifi Box are being savagely roasted for starring in a Kmart advert that Aussies just aren’t buying.

The radio hosts recently collaborated on a paid partnership with the budget retailer that saw them heading into a store and going on a shopping spree.

But the all-too familiar Kmart run has proved to be the downfall of the video, with many Aussies quickly speculating that Bickmore and Box were clearly “rookies” who rarely – if ever – step foot inside the iconic shop.

The video, a joint collaboration between the Carrie and Tommy Show and the Fifi, Fev & Nick Show official Instagram accounts, kicked off with the besties heading in store to snag some affordable “new decor”.

But before either had picked up an item from Kmart’s new February Living range that they wanted to take home, viewers spotted what they argue is a very telling detail.

“I mean, who grabs a basket when shopping at Kmart? Amateurs! You should’ve grabbed a trolley,” one commenter noted.

“Pft, rookies. Where’s the dual shopping trolleys?” another asked.

As one argued: “I will show you how to shop at Kmart. Tip one, get a trolley.”

As the video continues, Bickmore and Box can be seen strolling down the aisles with their baskets, eventually settling on two small vases, a green resin jug and a cushion.

“I think we’re done,” Box states as Bickmore adds the pink $10 homewares item.

“Yeah we’re good,” the former Project host replies.

In total, Carrie took home $23 worth of goodies from the budget retailer, while Fifi appeared to only obtain the $14 jug.

And as any true Aussie knows, no one can go into Kmart and leave with just a few items, resulting in viewers scratching their heads.

“Tell me you don’t shop at Kmart without telling me. Came out with a cushion and a vase,” one said.

“This is hilarious. These two do not shop at Kmart,” agreed someone else.

While one declared: “As if these 2 shop at Kmart.”

While the jury is still out on whether the two radio stars actually love Kmart, there’s no denying Aussies do, with many taking to social media since its new homewares range hit shelves last week to rave about the standout launches.

One product that has sent shoppers into a spin is the Marlo Lounge Chair, priced at just $99 that some have argued is an affordable dupe of $949 version sold by a designer brand.

“Run don’t walk to Kmart!” one wrote of the popular new product on TikTok.

While another said: “These are gorgeous.”
