These were some of the questions News Corp Australia readers had about the coronavirus today in a live Q&A with Royal Australian College of GPs President Dr Harry Nespolon.
He told readers they do not need to wear masks unless they are ill, and addressed the myth that vitamin C works to fight against the virus.
He also said the virus can remain for nine hours on hard surfaces, and warned people to be careful about touching public surfaces and told readers to avoid touching their face.
He also advised against sharing utensils with someone who might have or does have the virus, dispelling another myth that one can catch it through eating food.
Dr Nespolon also gave more advice on how to protect yourself and your family and what to do if you think you are infected.
