It’s long-been regarded as the restaurant famed for its billion dollar views and adored by the rich and famous.
But iconic oceanside institution Icebergs Bar and Restaurant is making a major, albeit temporary, departure into cheap eats territory.
Owner and restaurateur Maurice Terzini has confirmed Icebergs will offer a rare two-course meal for $40 – a one-off deal to mark the inaugural American Express delicious. month out which kicks off in Sydney on February 28.
delicious. month out is a celebration of Sydney’s food scene with more than 180 restaurants, cafes and bars in the CBD, Surry Hills, Potts Point and Parramatta on-board with a raft of offers to entice people to take a seat.
Not to be left out, there are also offers from restaurants and cafes from outside those four precincts.
The Icebergs offer, on March 10, will take place at the restaurant’s famed bar area with head chef Alex Pritchard to oversee a specially curated menu of two starters and two pastas, with an in-house DJ to also perform.
A carefully selected wine list will also be available.
“It’s a bit of fun and we’re excited about it,” says Terzini, who first opened the world-famous fine diner in 2002.
“The bar area is a great spot to eat and have a good time. And we’re just happy to be involved in the Delicious event.”
Icebergs is not alone in pulling out a few one-off stops for the month-long dining event.
Surry Hills’ wood-fired meat emporium Firedoor is offering a dish that is an early starter for Sydney’s top meal of 2020.
