Ryan Gosling’s favourite Australian foods and drinks

You could say he’s ‘fallen’ for our cuisine!

In case you missed it, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt recently visited Australia to promote their new movie, ‘Fall Guy’. During an interview, Gosling and Blunt were asked about their favourite Aussie foods, and we were so chuffed with Gosling’s thoughts on Australian cuisine.

Having previously called himself an “honorary Australian,” it’s no surprise that Tim Tams were the first icons to be mentioned among his favourites, but Gosling also praised our coffee.

‘It’s on a whole other level,’ he said to Blunt.

But that’s not where the compliments ended.

Australian breakfast: the best in the world?

Gosling also praised Australian breakfasts, saying we do breakfast ‘better than anyone.’

And, based on your recipe searches, we know this is something our taste.com.au community loves to perfect.

Whether you’re craving something savoury, like an avocado smash with perfectly cooked eggs, or something sweeter, like basic pancakes or an oat and berry acai bowl, we have recipes that would impress any Hollywood actor. We wonder if Ryan would extend the same kindness to vegemite on toast!

Given the ‘Fall Guy’ filming locations were primarily in and around Sydney, we can’t help but wonder whether this means Sydney might be reaching a Melbourne-level of coffee stardom.

Our best recipe twists on coffee

But it’s not just take-away coffee that we do well, we also have the secret for making barista-style coffee in the comfort of our own kitchens. We don’t know whether Gosling is a fan of a classic bitter espresso, or a sweeter coffee – but, if it’s the latter, we think he should have a taste of our favourite indulgent coffee hack: adding a lindt ball!

Our Food Director, Amira Georgy, created three of these delightful coffees:

  1. a Lindt ball hazelnut espresso,
  2. a Lindt ball white chocolate latte, and
  3. a Lindt ball salted caramel cappuccino.

All this talk about breakfast makes us grateful that so many Australian cafes have started offering ‘all-day brekkies’. BRB, off to go enjoy some smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough at 3pm!
