Bar Machiavelli celebrating the festive season with yummy Christmas holiday cocktails

SAY cheers to Christmas cheer with a yuletide cocktail. These silly season concoctions feature traditional holiday flavours such as gingerbread, eggnog and cinnamon, all spiked with a festive amount of booze.

These silly season concoctions feature traditional holiday flavours such as gingerbread, eggnog and cinnamon, all spiked with a festive amount of booze.

At Bar Machiavelli, Rushcutters Bay, revellers can choose from a Christmas Colada, a holiday take on a pina colada, a Panettone Bellini based on the traditional Italian Christmas cake and Naughty Reindeer which has the spice notes of gingerbread.

Mixologist Matteo Belkeziz said that Christmas is a time to be merry so it makes sense to combine alcohol with nostalgic flavours.

“We created drinks that are nice and refreshing and that remind you a bit of a wintertime Christmas,” he said.

Whirly Bird in Pyrmont has adapted eggnog, using a whole egg, rum and clove-infused sherry in the Good Ol’ Christmas Cheer cocktail, Gin Lane in Chippendale has a Christmas Cracker with vanilla vodka, ginger liqueur and cider and the Murray Christmas at Maybe Frank in Randwick and Surry Hills is made from Campari, Four Pillars Christmas gin, citrus and a cinnamon and marzipan foam.

Inma Pedregosa, 26, from Darlinghurst, is a fan. “The flavours in the cocktail reminds me of memories of Christmas, of cakes and cookies and family,” she said.
