Sure, there are the usual classics that we all know and love, like the Lindt GOLD Bunny, Cadbury Creme Egg, or Darrell Lea Rocky Road. You can’t go wrong with these, but it’s also fun to shake things up.
Australia’s best Easter chocolate treats for 2024
I’ve spotted some new Easter chocolate additions for 2024, and there are some real goodies!
Here’s my list of favourite new treats that we hope to wake up to on Easter morning, ranked from the most brilliant to still pretty brilliant.
1. Darrell Lea’s Coco Pops Foiled Solid Eggs
Our favourite cereal in an Easter egg? Yes, please! Coco Pops add a fun crunch to the smooth and creamy Darrell Lea chocolate and these make the best Easter gifts for chocolate lovers of any age. I am so here for this chocolatey collaboration.
2. Cadbury Pascall Clinkers Easter Bunny
Cadbury has joined forces with another retro goodie to create the Pascall Clinkers Easter Bunny. Think smooth and creamy milk chocolate mixed with the crunch of candy pieces – and I know from the success of our Clinkers slice that it’s a match made in heaven.
3. Ferrero Rocher Golden Eggs
Classic round Ferrero Rochers are absolutely synonymous with Christmas, but over the last few years, they’ve introduced some mindblowingly good Easter treats. There’s the nutty shell that looks like a giant version of their iconic foil-wrapped chocolates. There’s the hazelnut-flavoured chocolate squirrel (sorry, bunnies). And now, they’ve released some of the most delicious little chocolate eggs we’ve ever tried. These are a little bit fancy, absolutely addictive and really uniquely Ferrero. Insider tip: the white ones were our faves.
4. Lindt Lindor Cheesecake Chocolate Balls
Lindt has released a new lemon cheesecake flavour for their 75th anniversary and I’m obsessed. Think white chocolate, biscuit pieces, luscious cheesecake filling and a hint of lemon. It’s perfect for if you’re wanting to indulge in some chocolate this Easter, but are not a fan of the usual richer milk or dark chocolate flavours.
5. Darrell Lea’s Raspberry Foiled Solid Eggs
These Easter eggs are filled with milk chocolate with crispy raspberry bits thrown in. They’re foiled, so you also have the option to scatter them around the backyard for an Easter egg hunt.
6. Cadbury Bubbly Mint Bunny
This one is for the choc-mint lovers! Picture a light and fluffy, bubbly (bright green!) mint centre encased in milk chocolate. This gift box comes with two delicious choc-mint bunnies and a large Dairy Milk egg.
7. Haigh’s Milk Hot Cross Bun Crunch Egg
This one is for the adults – because it’s not just the kids who get to have all the fun! If you’re ever torn between chocolate and a hot cross bun at Easter, I’m here to assure you that you can have both! This crunch egg is filled with the most delicious spiced toffee, currants, and orange pieces and it tastes super-festive. Haigh’s is one of the world’s most luxurious chocolates, so this is definitely one for the premium chocolate lovers.
8. Darrell Lea’s Speckled Eggs
So. Pretty. These fun, colourful speckled eggs are filled with milk chocolate and covered in a sweet shell. Our foodies have been saying it’s much harder to find regular speckled eggs in the shops this year, so I’m very happy that these exist.
9. Cadbury Dairy Milk Sour Patch Kids Gift Box
Can’t choose between lollies or chocolate? Get both! Similar to other Cadbury gift boxes, this retro-themed gift box comes with a large Dairy Milk egg but also includes packets of Sour Patch Kids. It’s perfect if you’re craving a mixture of sweet and sour.
10. Haigh’s Hot Cross Bun Truffles
Another chocolate treat for the adults to enjoy this Easter? Haigh’s has also released new Hot Cross Bun Truffle flavours. Meet the Milk Blueberry Hot Cross Bun, filled with blueberries and blueberry puree, and Dark Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Bun, a cinnamon-infused milk fudge centre with sweet apple pieces.
11. Darrell Lea 100s & 1000s Egg
These fun and colourful Easter eggs have been hand-rolled in 100s and 1000s for a crispy finish. It’s our favourite fairy bread topping but in chocolate egg form – you can’t go wrong with a nostalgic chocolate treat!
