Everyday Sydneysiders are about to get a chance to experience that luxe superyacht life this summer.
A new $15 million superyacht, The Jackson, is set to dock in Sydney Harbour and will become a floating cocktail bar and restaurant.
The menu, which is being curated by executive chef Tom Kime, is focused on high quality, sustainable seafood and Australian seasonal produce.
While the yacht is most certainly going to attract Sydney’s socialites, and is available to be hired for events, the boat’s general manager Nick Lester said it was important to make it accessible for everyone.
“Not everyone can afford to charter a superyacht, so we have created an accessible luxurious experience that currently doesn’t exist,” said Lester.
The Jackson will operate from Thursday to Sunday, 12pm to 7pm, and guests will be able to board directly from main departure points at Circular Quay or Darling Harbour.
Guests can also come on board the top deck bar, which also has its own pizza oven, for $49. The boat, which is Australian designed and modelled after the best superyachts in the world is due to arrive in Sydney at the end of the month.
It will then host an exclusive VIP launch party, which is already becoming the talk of the town, in January.
Despite a pretty ordinary start to summer on the weather front, superyacht charters have been the trend du jour for Christmas parties. Makeup brand Charlotte Tilbury and MCoBeauty founder Shelley Sullivan have hosted events on a boat, while PR agencies Thrive and Electric Collective have also held their annual soirees on the high seas.
