IT’S cool to care. That’s the ethos of Toms, a global giving company that helps a person in need for every product sold as part of its One for One movement.

A pop-up store that launches in Westfield Bondi Junction today will take it a step further, with all retail profits donated to Westfield Bondi Junction’s chosen charity, Holdsworth Community, who provide services and support for people living with disabilities in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Kenyan-born Australian model and Westfield style ambassador Yaya Deng is getting behind it.

“It’s quite an important charity and the pop-up is a really great idea to get people involved and understand how lucky we are,” she said.

“We can all help out one way or another. Toms has shoes, bags and eyewear and for every product sold it will give one to a child in a developing country and also help Holdsworth.”

Deng believes that collaborations like this show that shopping can have “a positive impact in the community”.

“It does help to shop ethically, we all need to have an understanding on the impact our consumerism has on the broader world.”
