People are divided over Meghan Markle’s floral maxi dress

MEGHAN Markle wore a $7000 dress to Prince Harry’s cousin’s wedding and not everyone is a fan of the pricey garment.

THE newest member of the royal family, Meghan Markle, turned heads when she accompanied Prince Harry to a society wedding.

The pair were attending the wedding of Princess Diana’s niece, Celia McCorquodale, four weeks after they tied the knot themselves.

While Prince Harry wore a classic waistcoat and coat-tails, the Duchess of Sussex opted for a long-sleeved floral maxi dress, complete with fascinator.

The 36-year-old wore the £3922 ($7000) long sleeve cocktail dress by Oscar de la Renta — who styled Meghan’s mum Doria at her high profile royal wedding last month.

But people have been quick to question Meghan’s style, commenting on how baggy and ill-fitting the dress seemed — similar to opinion on her Givenchy wedding gown.

One person went as far as to compare her expensive frock to a doona cover.

The new Duchess of Sussex wore a long-sleeved blue-and-white paisley shirt dress and white fascinator at the wedding of Princess Diana's niece, Celia McCorquodale — exactly four weeks after her big day.

One person posted: “Is Meghan Markle okay?

“Why is she always drowning in her outfits?"

Some even compared her fascinator to a bath sponge, saying: “That outfit looks like a departure from her usual style, but if she needs to borrow one, I have several of those “hats” hanging out with the shower gel in my bathroom …”

“I guess one can’t be flawless all the time.”

“It does at least look very comfortable.”

Some defended the former actor, with one Twitter user posting “I like her style.”

Another praised her dress, commenting: “Meghan Markle showcases a softer, floral feminine look at Harry’s cousins wedding in a blue floral Oscar de la Renta gown.”

This person appreciated her style, writing: “Oh you gorgeous girl.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled to St Andrew and St Mary’s Church in Stoke Rochford, Lincolnshire for the wedding.

Celia McCorquodale, Prince Harry’s cousin, wed George Woodhouse.

And the 29-year-old wore the same diamond tiara Princess Diana wore at her wedding to Prince Charles.
