SHE has been a trackside regular at Flemington for more than a decade.

But Jennifer Hawkins’ reign as the face of Myer is coming to an end, and with it her last official duties for the department store giant at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

The former Miss Universe’s multimillion-dollar Myer deal is over of 2018 after 12 years and a rumoured $16 million in earnings, it was announced in August.

It is understood Oaks Day (aka Ladies’ Day) where Myer sponsors Fashions on the Field, will be the 34-year-old’s final official engagement for the store — a day where Hawkins has been a trackside regular.

In previous years, Hawkins turned heads in Myer’s Birdcage marquee, where her style has evolved from fast fashion to polished designer.

Myer, however, will be absent from the VVVIP Birdcage precinct this year, no longer hosting its hot-ticket marquee.

In the mid-2000s, Hawkins was often seen in fun, flirty and sometimes forgettable looks in the Birdcage, while in more recent years, showed off a more polished race day style.

Tracking Hawkins’ racing style evolution also shows reflects the changing face of fashion and grooming standards at Flemington.

Now, just about everyone — from celebs to average punters — go all out on Derby, Cup, Oaks and Stakes Day.

The retail giant announced it would no longer have a “face of Myer”, instead signing Instagram star Elyse Knowles to an “ambassador” role for a reported fraction of Hawkins’ fee.

“Way back in 2006, I was approached by Myer to sign a small, three-month contract,” Hawkins wrote on Instagram, announcing her departure.

“But after 12 years it’s time to move onto a new chapter in my life … Myer will always hold a special place in my heart.”

And so will her commitment to racing fashion.

Melbourne Cup Carnival starts tomorrow, with Derby Day — with a traditional black and white dress code — at Flemington Racecourse.
