SHE walked the runway for David Jones but Montana Cox has one last-minute request — she had her “mullet” chopped off.

“My hair has been growing really quickly now that it’s short and the mullet grows back,” Cox, 21, said.

“I kind of want to hold on to it. I’m like, oh it’s getting longer ... and everyone’s like, Montana, it’s a mullet,” she said.

But is the New York-based Australian model about to lose her signature pixie ‘do?

“I kind of just want a little bit of hair to hold on to,” the former Australia’s Next Top Model winner said.

“It’s just such a big difference, going from long hair all your life.

“I love it and think it’s really cool but I think I’m ready for a bit of length.”

The brunette beauty has previously admitted to the Daily Mail that she cried when she had her shoulder-length locks cut last year.

Melbourne-raised Cox and fellow David Jones ambassadors Jessica Gomes and Jason Dundas, along with Elyse Taylor and Samantha Harris, appeared at the department store’s Autumn/Winter 2015 launch in Sydney.

It showcased brands including Scanlan & Theodore, Ellery, Camilla and Marc and Josh Goot.
