POUTY supermodels, Angel wings, and seriously sexy bras and knickers … the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has kicked off in its barely-there style.
The US lingerie giant is staging its annual runway event in New York, with some of the world’s top-paid models - including Kendall Jenner, and Gigi and Bella Hadid, and “Angels” Adriana Lima, Taylor Hill and Jasmine Tookes took over the catwalk.
Plaid, pink and silver lingerie is featuring prominently as the stunning ladies strut their stuff on the stage.

MODELS PREP BACKSTAGE AHEAD OF SHOW
In some big news ahead of the show, Adriana’s future with VS has finally been revealed after rumours began swirling the veteran Angel would hang up her wings.
The 37-year-old Brazilian beauty has confirmed she will be retiring from the VS runway after today’s show, following 19 years with the brand.
“Thank you for not just giving me wings but teaching me to fly,” Adriana wrote with a video montage of her best moments posted to Instagram.
Meanwhile, Elsa Hosk will model the 90s-inspired diamond-encrusted $US1 million Fantasy Bra.
Kendall, the world’s top-paid supermodel, is returning to the VS catwalk today after a year off. Speaking to News Corp Australia mid make-up session, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 23, said her pre-VS prep included a lot of boxing. “I can’t do slow-paced workouts so yeah, I’m into that,” she said.
So what is her post-VS runway reward? A huge bowl of pasta, meatballs and cheese.
“Me and my friends are going to our favourite Italian food spot in the city. I’m going to eat, like, everything.”
It’s expected that Kendall’s mother, Kris Jenner, will be in the front row at the show, and possibly Kourtney Kardashian, who called while News Corp was speaking to the supermodel backstage.
Bella, 22, described today’s VS show - her third - as “huge”.
“Once you see all the models walk, it’s a huge show,” Hadid told News Corp.
“It’s a very emotional show. It’s really beautiful and to be back in New York.”
“There have been so many iconic women who have walked in the show before us and we get to follow,” Hadid said, sitting at her make-up and hair station backstage, wearing a black Victoria’s Secret silk robe and having her hair extensions applied.
“This is my third year and I feel like finally, I’m in the place that I need to be.”
Bella is walking in her third Victoria’s Secret show - one more than her supermodel sister Gigi - who returns to VS tonight after being denied a visa to China where last year’s show was held.
Wearing black silk robes with “Victoria’s Secret 2018” printed in glittering silver on the back, the models have started their pre-show preparation backstage at the Pier 24 venue in Manhattan.
This year’s VS runway will feature 60 models, with at least 16 first-timers including Winnie Harlow. Four Australians will walk in the show — Shanina Shaik, 27, Kelly Gale, 23, Alannah Walton, 18, and Duckie Thot, 23, as well as New Zealand-born Georgia Fowler, 26.
Adriana was the only model who posed for photos completely make-up free as she smiled for cameras backstage in the all-pink “glam room”.
Angel Behati Prinsloo, 30, also returns to the VS catwalk today, eight months after giving birth to her daughter, Gio Grace.
“It’s a dream come true every time I do it,” Prinsloo, who is married to Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, said.
“I missed everyone. I had such a good time having a break and being with my babies. I love to be missed, I love to be back, I missed them (her VS cohorts) too.”
She admitted preparing for the VS show was a “challenging” considering her role as a mum. “I’ve had to find little moments here and there between being a (mother) ... to kind of find the time for myself. It’s a fun challenge and I’m proud of myself.”
Apart from Victoria’s Secret’s top-selling bras and knickers, the catwalk will feature about 100 pairs of sky-high heels designed by Brian Atwood, and dewy, fresh-faced makeup looks by British cosmetics brand Charlotte Tilbury, with one artist to every two models.
Shawn Mendes, Halsey and Rita Ora will perform to the star-studded front row, which will reportedly include model mums Kris Jenner and Yolanda Hadid, as well as New York socialite Olivia Palermo, singer Madison Beer, Bella Hadid’s boyfriend The Weeknd and brother Anwar Hadid, and Bethenny Frankel.
Victoria’s Secret is set to open its first full-scale US-style store in Australia at Melbourne this month. It is currently hosting a bra-fitting pop-up at Chadstone Shopping Centre ahead of the launch.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’s TV special will air in the US on December 2, with an Australian air-date yet to be announced. It is believed to attract about a billion viewers globally
