It was like having a guillotine hanging over me. I thought it would only be lumpectomy, chemo, radiation and hormone therapy. Instead, things got a lot more complicated.
When someone you know is going through something like chemo, don’t spout BS about how getting through it will make them stronger. Just supply them with chocolates/wine/coffee/magazines/flowers.
One of my biggest fears going into chemo was losing my hair. Now that it’s happened I can see why I was so scared: it’s the big signifier that you’re sick. But it also means the drugs are working.
I had to wait a week for the results of the mammogram and biopsy. People say the worst thing is not knowing. It’s not true — at least while waiting you can kid yourself there’s nothing wrong.
