Popular teacher gets job back after canoe camp rescue

A popular physical education teacher who was fired after a school canoeing trip turned into a rescue operation has won his job back after the Fair Work Commission found he had been unjustly blamed because the students disobeyed his instructions.

About 10.50am on Tuesday (14 January 2020), police and emergency services responded to reports a man had been shot at a property on Catombal Road, Eurimbla, about 50km south of Wellington. Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and located the body of a 60-year-old man inside the home. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The man has been formally identified as Bandidos OMCG Central West Chapter President, Shane De Britt. Tributes flow for slain Bandidos bikie boss

The president of the infamous Bandidos bikie gang who was gunned down at a rural property in NSW has been described as a “lovely fellow” and family man. Police are investigating bikie activity in the area as they investigate Shane De Britt’s murder.
