AN article with the headline “Toddler targeted in brazen playground abduction attempt at Darling Harbour” (June 8, 2017) reported that NSW Police wanted to talk to a man about an attempted child abduction at Darling Harbour.
A photograph of the man wanted for questioning was published with the article. Dailytelegraph.com.au accepts that the man was not attempting to abduct the child but was, in fact, going to the aid of a toddler who was unsteady on his feet.
Dailytelegraph.com.au apologises to the man for any hurt or embarrassment the article caused.
