Daughter’s heartbreaking tribute to Eyre Way co-founder Amanda Hogg after three-year bowel cancer battle

Brave little India Hogg, 9, left hearts breaking as she farewelled her mum Amanda saying, “I’ll think of you every moment for the rest of my life.”

With a trembling voice and words wise beyond her years, nine-year-old India Hogg captured the heartbreak of a room on Friday as she farewelled her mum, Amanda Hogg.

“My mum was clearly the most strong, amazing, beautiful and most loved mum in the world by far,” she said.

“Even if we can’t physically see you, touch you or still hear you — we still know that you are with us … I will be thinking of you every moment for the rest of my life.”

Amanda — co-founder of luxury accommodation business Eyre Way — died on May 29 after a three-year battle with bowel cancer. She was 39.

Dozens gathered at Cobble and Stone in Port Lincoln to celebrate her life on Friday, an afternoon filled with tears, laughter, and the sharing fond memories.

Amanda’s husband Tim Hogg spoke of her fierce spirit and the legacy she leaves behind in their three children.

“Amanda had an inner power,” he said.

“Her strength, her pride and spirit were unstoppable.”

“We will miss you every single day. We will talk about you every single day. And we will love you every single day.”

Friend Damien Lawrence said Amanda lived up to the meaning of her name — loveable and worthy of love.

“She was courageous, determined, stoic and mentally disciplined … she battled her illness with rest and tenacity that was astonishing,” he said.

“The C word may have taken her body, but it never broke her spirit — not once.”

Amanda was remembered as someone who “made the ordinary feel magical” — a mother, friend and powerhouse who left behind love, strength and fire in every life she touched.
