UPDATE: Police will prepare a report for the coroner after finding the body of an Innot Hot Springs man more than a week after he went missing.

The discovery was made on Saturday — nine days after the 44-year-old went missing.

EARLIER: Police hold concerns for the welfare of a man who has been missing since January 28.

The 44-year-old Innot Hot Springs man was last seen last seen walking along Tumoulin Road in Ravenshoe around 12.30pm on January 28, wearing jeans, a dark shirt and no shoes.

Police and SES have searched Ravenshoe Forest Reserve in the area where the man was last seen but nothing of significance was found.

The man’s family say it is out of character for him to disappear.

He is described as Indigenous, 185cm tall with a shaved head.

Police are appealing for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.
