IT'S a beautiful day on the harbour. You’ve cosied up near the flamed outdoor heaters, escaping the winter chill enough to actually enjoy it. With plenty of space for your family and colleagues, you dig into delectable bites, sizeable share platters and plenty of cocktails well into the evening.

While the food might take you on a tour ‘round the world, Planar Bar & Restaurant is nestled in the heart of Darling Harbour. A waterfront dining destination like no other, the 300-seater boasts a Modern Australian menu and drinks list to be savoured in its large, sweeping spaces (so you’ve got enough room to kick back and relax).

Although Planar Bar & Restaurant has found its home in the harbour, it’s removed from the hustle and bustle of it. The relaxed, all-day outpost laps up its waterfront setting, with diners sitting under umbrellas, watching exercise enthusiasts in the morning and city workers in the evening.

It’s safe to say the view speaks for itself, however, something must be said for the contemporary cuisine that Planar Bar & Restaurant has perfected. Bringing diners an eclectic array of dishes, the menu easily provides a first class seat for the senses. From American Tex-Mex Nachos, African Moroccan-style sardines and Ancient European flavours found in the Tzatziki lamb burgers and authentic Italian wood fired pizzas, there’s something for every kind of diner. Honouring Asian cuisine, Planar also offers a Singapore fried rice noodle dish, served with pork belly, prawns and bean sprouts. For those after something a little more adventurous at dinner, snap up the chargrilled Crocodile burger with grilled zucchini and beetroot relish with bite. Before you mentally skip dessert too, feast your eyes on the Crispy profiteroles (packed with soft, hazelnut-flavoured mousseline cream), Raspberry lychee rose or Bread pudding on offer.

For a sensory overload like no other, combine delicious food and drinks for dinner, paired with a desirable view of Darling Harbour at Planar Restaurant & Bar.
