Months after making her triumphant return to the catwalk, American supermodel Tyra Banks has been spotted quietly enjoying a festive summer in Sydney.
Banks was spotted in Darling Harbour this week, looking every bit the superstar in her casual ensemble of black pants and cropped grey sweater.
The mother of one opted for a low-key incognito vibe and, despite the heat, donned a grey beanie as she enjoyed a double scoop of ice cream.
In September, the 51-year-old former America’s Next Top Model host took to the runway for the much-hyped Victoria’s Secret Show.
It had been almost 20 years since she last walked as a Victoria’s Secret angel.
Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show in October, she said that before retiring from modelling in 2005, she “walked for myself”.
But this time was different.
“When I was walking on the Victoria’s Secret runway this time, I felt like everybody was inside of me,” Banks told Barrymore.
“Fifty-year-old women, insecure women — I just felt like there was more, and I look at the playback and I’m like, boom, boom, boom.
“I was stomping because I felt like I was a vessel more so than it’s just all about me.
“It was different.”
Banks is also a hugely successful entrepreneur and businesswoman across television and fashion. She is an actor and author, too.
She has been spotted, but not photographed, around Sydney a couple of times over the past 18 months, and attended the Fine Food Australia industry event at ICC in September last year.
