Legendary queen of rock and roll Tina Turner dies aged 83

In the weeks before her death, Tina Turner looked back on her life and career to advise her younger self.

The eerie interview resurfaced after the queen of rock n roll died in Switzerland at the age of 83.

“I would tell myself to stay strong and continue wanting more and fighting for it all!” she said in the interview with British Vogue, published just weeks before her death.

“It will come, and it will be worth the wait!”

In the cryptic interview, published on April 17, Turner spoke about how she thrived through a life of hardship.

“What does well-lived mean?” she replied to the question, going on to explain, “My life has been full, but with lots of sad times that I now forgive and strive to forget.

“Maybe that’s the answer: to keep moving forward, to let go and aim to fill your life with love,” she added. “That is where I am now, and I am grateful.”

Her death was announced across her social media accounts in a statement praising her music and her “boundless passion for life”.

“She enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” the stamens said.

As a star of yesteryear, Turner overcame offstage drama to be known more for her music and performances than the life of hardship she endured along the way.

She married guitarist Ike Turner in 1962 but the pair divorced after he beat her during a car ride during a Dallas tour stop in 1976, according to her memoir. He died of a drug overdose in 2007. Turner’s son, Ronnie Turner, died in December at the age of 62, while her eldest son, Craig Turner, died by suicide in 2018.
