Tickets on sale ‘tomorrow’ as beloved musical Annie returning to Sydney

One of the most beloved musicals, Annie, could soon have Sydneysiders screaming ‘it’s the hard knock life’ if they wait until ‘tomorrow’ for tickets.

One of the most beloved musicals to ever hit the Broadway stage could soon have Sydneysiders screaming “it’s the hard knock life” if they wait until “tomorrow” for tickets, with Annie returning to Australia once again.

What once began as a comic strip in the 1920s has since developed into a musical revolution, and Annie and her trusty band of orphans have continued a timeless legacy spanning 100 years.

Since its Broadway debut in the 1970s, Annie has accumulated seven Tony Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards, a Grammy and countless film adaptations in the process.

Returning to the Capitol Theatre in Sydney next year, four talented youngsters will be at the helm of the newest production, eagerly awaiting their turn in front of the bright lights on the big stage.

One of the young actors, Dakota Chanel described her casting as a dream come true, saying “it’s once in a lifetime and an amazing opportunity”.

Together with her co-stars Beatrix Alder, Matilda Casey and Stephanie McNamara, the charismatic quartet will bring the loveable lead role of Annie the orphan to life.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the production comes together at the end, because it’s gonna be a lot of hours and a lot of rehearsing,” said Matilda.

“But once you go out and finally do it on stage, it will be like ‘wow I didn’t think that was possible’.”

Pre-sale tickets will be on sale from Monday before the general sale on December 6
