Matildas superstar Mackenzie Arnold has come home to Queensland to see in the new year and was spotted partying it up at the New Year’s Eve Wildlands Festival at the RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old joked on Instagram that partying at festivals reminded her how old she was, as she shared snaps of herself dancing with friends.

“Bringing in the new year with some of my favs,” she said. “Here’s to 2025.”

One star struck fan said she nearly wet herself when she bumped into the soccer star in the crowd.

“You’re such a legend, lovely to meet you,” the woman said.

The festival, itself, wasn’t without controversy, after headliner Ice Spice arrived 25 minutes late for her 30 minute set - and then performed for just 5 minutes.

HANSON REJECTS PALMER MERGER BID

Pauline Hanson and her One Nation Party have turned down a deal to merge with Clive Palmer’s failing political party.

Hanson has declared she is not for sale after Clive Palmer moved to trademark the “Clive and Pauline” party.

Palmer this week applied to trademark several politically-themed names, including “Clive and Pauline Party”, in an pre-emptive attempt to merge his failing United Australia Party with Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party.

Records available on IP Australia, the government agency that protects intellectual property, showed the application for “Clive and Pauline Party” and “The Teal Party” were made on November 18.

A few weeks later trademark applications were made for “Teal”, “Teals”, “The Teal Party” and “AusTeal”.

Scoop can confirm a merger offer was made to ONP but a spokesman for the party categorically denied they were considering the deal, declaring One Nation is “not for sale”.

Neither ONO nor UAP stand to make any significant gains in 2025, according to polls.

One Nation confirmed it was ready and willing to work cooperatively with the Coalition, should Peter Dutton win the upcoming federal election.

Clive Palmer’s team declined to comment further.

BILLY FEELING LIKE A MILLION BUCKS

NRL legend and Maroons coach Billy Slater has been living his best life on the Gold Coast after arriving for this week’s Magic Million carnival.

He and wife Nicole are ambassadors for the carnival, alongside the likes of Chris Hemsworth’s better half Elsa Pataky and British royal Zara Tindall.

Slater posted video to Instagram this week of he and his family hurtling along the Goldy foreshore on e-bikes, hitting the beach with surfboards under arm and kicking back on the sand.

“Summer,” he simply captioned the post with a sun emoji.

The Slaters were reunited with their Magic Millions ambassador “family” at The Star Gold Coast on Friday after Tindall and hubby Mike jetted in, along with Argentine polo star Nacho Figueras and wife Delfina Blaquier.

“This is obviously about horses but it’s about people as well,” he said after sharing big hugs with his British and the Argentinian mates.

MAGICAL JOY FOR SPECTACULAR PERFORMER

Australian Outback Spectacular sweetheart Sabrina Durante and her landscaper husband Ryan Hayes have announced the birth of a sweet baby boy - Heath.

The couple who tied the knot in 2023 at an extravagant wedding with a French provincial-theme in the Gold Coast hinterland said “life has never been more beautiful”.

Durante said their baby boy was the best Christmas gift she could have asked for.

QUEENSLAND PLAYS HOST TO TOP CRIME DRAMA

Sharp-eyed Gold Coasters have been playing “spot the local landmark” in the new season of Black Snow, starring Aussie heart-throb Travis Fimmel, which premiered this week.

The gripping crime drama series was shot in Queensland, with the Glasshouse Mountains on the Sunshine Coast a major backdrop.

But the Goldy also plays a leading role in Season 2, with locations including the Coolangatta police station, Tugun Bowls Club, Marina Mirage at Main Beach and the Tweed Heads cemetery figuring prominently.

Fimmel, who made his name as Ragnar Lothbrok in the hit Netflix series Vikings and also starred in the TV adaptation of beloved Brisbane author Trent Dalton’s book Boy Swallows Universe, might also make a reappearance at next month’s Gold Coast Open surfing contest on the Glitter Strip.

He thrilled fans at the World Surf League event last year when he showed up to help promote a new beer brand, Travla, which sponsors the tournament.

PARKER MAKES COMEBACK AFTER WALTERS SAGA

After a three-month hiatus, Triple M’s The Big Breakfast host Margaux Parker has broken her social media silence.

The outspoken Parker had not posted on her Instagram account since September 9 when she had shared pics of herself and mates enjoying a day out at the Sweet Relief! festival at Ballymore Stadium.

Her time away from social media came after she was caught up in fallout from Broncos hooker Billy Walters quitting his role with Triple M following negative comments on the breakfast show about his father, Kevin Walters.

“I’m back... did you miss me?!,” Parker wrote to her more than 24,000 fans.

“Lots to fill you in on but for now here’s me fresh faced, healed and feeling free,” she said.

Parker and her family, including hubby Corey Parker, rang in the new year in Yeppoon ahead of a trip out to Great Keppel Island.

ROBIN’S NEW YEAR’S KISS WITH NEW BEAU

Breakfast radio star Robin Bailey has taken to social media to share her silly season festivities joined by her “adored” new beau.

She shared stunning photos of her and her new partner Olivier Massart, the Chief Operating Officer at aged care village Noosa Care, where they brought in the new year.

“We enjoyed the sun as it shone upon a year of change and growth,” Robin said.

“Here’s to an extraordinary 2025,” she said.

Robin also posted a quirky Christmas video of her children in matching pyjamas wishing her loyal followers a happy holiday season.
