The life lessons everyone can learn from one woman’s story of alcohol dependency

It’s been two years since Lisa Greenberg – fitness consultant and wife of former NRL boss and now CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association Todd Greenberg – went public with her story of alcohol addiction, making headlines across the country and sparking a discussion around a battle that often takes place behind closed doors.

On this episode of Something To Talk About, and as Dry July comes to a close, Greenberg – who is now five years sober – sits down for an emotional conversation about the toll that her addiction took on her family, and how she found new purpose and self-worth once she tackled her dependence on alcohol. She also shares the lessons she learnt in hopes that Australians can take them away to apply to their own lives or the ones of those they love, whatever they may be struggling with. “It’s about small steps,” Greenberg says. “It’s not sexy to take small steps but, gee, it works.”
