CONTROVERSIAL comedian Kathy Griffin has unleashed on Sam Armytage in an awkward interview, telling the breakfast television star she’s “full of crap”.
The spat came during a Sunrise live cross to Los Angeles for a chat with the funnywoman to promote her upcoming stand-up tour.
Griffin found herself in a storm of controversy in July when she posed for a photo shoot holding a bloodied severed head resembling US President Donald Trump.
She lost her job on CNN, a tour was cancelled and she was ostracised by Hollywood and Washington alike.
When Armytage asked about the stunt and whether she conceded it went too far, Griffin fired back angrily.
“You’re full of crap,” she said. “Stop this. You know this. Stop acting like my little picture is more important than talking about the actual atrocities that the President of the United States is committing.”
While the comedian and actress apologised at the time in the wake of mounting pressure, she told the Channel Seven show she is no longer sorry.
The severity of outrage that followed, which Griffin believes was inspired by Trump’s angry Tweets about the incident, was “BS” and “blown out of proportion”.
“No, I don’t apologise for that photo anymore and I think the outrage is complete BS because we have real things to deal with.
“But I’m in trouble according to you, Sam, way to take my back girl.”

Armytage’s insistence that she was just asking questions as a journalist didn’t go down well, with Griffin joking: “I’m going to meet you in an alley.”
“No I got it. I got your number. You’re like a white Trump voter in America. I got your thing.”
During the testy segment, Griffin revealed she was under federal investigation for two months for the divisive photo shoot.
She also revealed well-known friends like Chelsea Clinton and actress Debra Messing had shunned her since the photo.
“I’ve been through it,” she said.
Kathy Griffin is bringing her Laugh Your Head Off tour to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth from Saturday October 21. Tickets for all shows go on sale at 10am this Friday, September 1. Details: www.livenation.com.au
