REAL Housewives of Sydney husband David Oldfield has confessed he hasn’t had sex with wife Lisa in more than a year — but claims when they do “it’s pretty wild.”

The former One Nation politician and co-founder, previously romantically linked to Pauline Hanson, told News Corp Australia his 16-year-old marriage was now sexless, with Lisa claiming the couple were now in therapy.

Oldfield, now a stay-at-home husband and parent to the couple’s two children, Bert, 4, and Harry, 6, confirmed the last time he had sex “was the 18th of January, 2016 at about 7pm” during a holiday in New Zealand.

“We make plans to do this sort of thing [have sex], it’s hilarious. It’s like booking an appointment in the diary. We have in the past year made plans to do it, and then one thing leads to another and something goes wrong and it doesn’t happen,” he explained.

In tonight’s episode, a frustrated Lisa talks divorce, later telling her co-stars: “I love him as a dad, I hate him as a husband.”

Oldfield said parenting duties had taken a toll on their lovemaking, revealing he had slept in a separate bed for 18 months and confirmed they had not had sex during that time, quipping: “at least not with each other.”

On the upside, he argued: “it’s not like she said I was a dud root,” and “when it does happen it’s pretty wild.”

He claimed their sexual hiatus was “not especially uncommon” for long-term marriages, describing their intimacy as “a matter of convenience” and “a lot of the time it isn’t convenient.”

The outspoken housewife tells co-star Victoria Rees she is desperately unhappy in her marriage, calling her husband a “mongrel,” with divorcee Rees advising her to leave him.

In admitting the couple’s marital problems, Oldfield said: “it’s not that we detest each other particularly. It’s what happens when you’ve been together a long time, when you’ve got little kids, some medical issues, it’s a whole range of things.”

The business woman has spoken previously about having spinal surgery the week before filming the reality show, popping pain medication and drinking champagne during production.

The Northern Beaches power couple have already set tongues wagging with their explosive relationship, with Lisa calling him a “c*nt” and their son Bert swearing at his mother after she called the preschooler a “d*ckhead.”

Oldfield said he had no qualms about the couple’s dirty laundry airing on national TV and happily supports his controversial wife’s decision to appear on the show.

“Everyone’s got flaws and everyone’s got secrets, just not Lisa, apparently,” Oldfield joked.

“She’ll say things that I don’t necessarily think were put the right way, and things that I wouldn’t say, and she’ll get into territory that I probably wouldn’t but I’m comfortable with it,” he said.

“There are things that I think are not anybody’s business, but Lisa’s. Certainly there are things she talks about that I wouldn’t think are for public discourse, but that’s just the way it is.”

Not even his wife’s discussion of the frequency of their sex-life has been enough to ruffle Oldfield’s feathers.

“I never really saw myself as having a role in the show, except as Lisa’s husband and an accessory. Sadly, even one’s children are accessories [to the show].”

“I’m not happy about the way Lisa speaks to the children or the way the children speak to Lisa. I’m not happy about the language they have picked up, and I don’t condone its use,” he said.

“There are parents at our children’s school who will probably be horrified but they’re not the target audience.”

Despite their drought in the bedroom, he believes the marriage is far from over.

“Our relationship is love-hate ... but it doesn’t live or die on [whether or not we have] sex. We’re not 20 years old and like rabbits.”

The Real Housewives of Sydney airs 7.30pm, Sundays on Foxtel’s Arena.
