JUST when you think you’ve seen it all, more drama has come for The Block, and this time it’s much worse than an $8,000 bath tub.

Queensland contestants Norm and Jess have been left shell-shocked after it was revealed on Tuesday night’s episode that their credit card — which was reported stolen during week two of the Channel 9 reality show — had in fact been nicked by two contractors who had been working in their St Kilda penthouse throughout the series.

“It turns out that it’s allegedly these two labourers that stole our credit card from inside our apartment, and still smiled at us for the last few weeks. I cannot believe it,” Jess said clearly dumbfounded.

The alleged thieves, who rang up hundreds of dollars’ worth of charges at petrol stations, a Charcoal Chicken shop and on various other purchases — were handcuffed by police and taken to South Melbourne Police Station for questioning, all while fellow contestants and site crew looked on.

“I can’t believe it. For them to look at you in the eye every single day and be like, “hello”, and they’ve bloody stolen from you,” radio presenter Jess said. “I sung happy birthday to them. I’ve given them food and drinks.”

“I’d say it’s pretty severe,” Norm said while looking on as the two men, who remained unidentified, were taken away.

According to host Scott Cam, one of the two men was released, while the other was not only convicted of theft and credit card fraud, but also deported.

And while the Queensland favourites were ultimately refunded all of the stolen money, there’s no doubt the incident has left a bad taste in their mouth.

“What I cannot get over is that we sung them Happy Birthday … and loud,” Jess added.
