Married At First Sight’s Adrian Araouzou has left fans fuming after many claimed he might have spoiled the outcome of his relationship.
Adrian and his new bride, Awhina Rutene, live on opposite sides of the country and it had left many, including him, worrying if their relationship could last.
Awhina lives in Perth with her twin sister, her son and her son’s father, while Adrian lives in Sydney and also has a twin.
After just a week’s worth of episodes, a fan has claimed to have spotted Adrian out on a date in Sydney.
And it wasn’t with Awhina.
The fan told Yahoo Lifestyle that at around midnight at a Sydney hotspot the pair seemed to be getting quite close, and they had their arms around each other at one point.
“He was definitely with a different girl to his wife on the show so I guess that is done,” alleged the viewer.
After the fan made the shocking claim, Adrian told Yahoo Lifestyle that all may not have been what it seemed at face value.
“We are identical and our haircuts are exactly the same,” he said of his twin, claiming that was who the viewer spotted on an intimate date.
“He doesn’t have long hair anymore, nor do I. We literally both have the same haircut right now, he continued, adding that the pair have tried to purposefully mislead fans.
“Leading into the show, we sort of knew that this would happen so we decided to get the same haircut because people wouldn’t know the difference, especially now.”
It comes after Adrian hit back at claims from angry viewers that MAFS producers had set him and Awhina up to fail due to the distance between them.
“Love moves mountains. So when you fall in love, those big issues don’t become so big,” he told Yahoo Lifestyle.
“At the end of the day, I’ve lived in different states to my brother. My brother lives in a different state right now and when we were filming for the show he was in Melbourne. We’re not side-by-side all day every day, so for us, it wasn’t an issue.
He went on to add: “I think it would be more of an issue for Awhina to be away from her sister, but I would never have expected that because she has her son and her son’s father is in Perth. So I knew that the situation from that point onwards was about me moving, not her because I wouldn’t want to move Awhina away from her son or her son away from his dad.”
