South Australian mates Tim and Kyle smash highest My Kitchen Rules record

ANOTHER record has been broken on My Kitchen Rules. Tim and Kyle have scored a record high and a competitor is talking marriage.

TIM Atwill and Kyle McLean have broken the My Kitchen Rules’ record for highest score.

It is a major confidence boost for the South Australian mates who quit their jobs to compete on the Channel 7 competitive cooking show.

Tim and Kyle scored a whopping 100 out of 110 for their Boys’ Backyard instant restaurant on Monday, including perfect tens from judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel for their entree and main.

The record-breaking highest score comes 24 hours after Bek Outred and Ash Brannan crashed to the lowest score in My Kitchen Rules’ history.

The previous record for highest score was held by season 6 contestants Eva Lean and Debra Ch’ng with 98 out of 110.

Tim and Kyle’s meal had Bek Outred, who has been flirting with Kyle throughout the series, talking wedding bells.

“After tonight, I would marry Kyle in an instant,” Bek said. “I would go to work and he can stay home and cook.”

Tim and Kyle’s catchcry was “prior preparation prevents poor performance” and it paid dividends.

They plated up an entree of Tuna ceviche with puffed wild rice, avocado puree and wasabi mayonnaise.

“It is absolutely brilliant,” Evans said. “You’re going to go far in this competition. This is the best entree we’ve had in this group so far — by a long shot.”

The superlatives kept coming with the main course of spiced kangaroo with beetroot and walnut puree and weed salad.

“I called your entree perfect but this is better,” Evans enthused. “This main course is faultless.”

Feildel was just as ebullient. “This, and I’m not lying when I say this, is the best sauce we’ve ever had on My Kitchen Rules. This is the dog’s bollocks of sauces.”

Tim and Kyle acknowledged that desserts were their weakest area and it was left to Tim to create key lime pie with vanilla ice cream.

Evans said the mates were 95 per cent there with the result. The base was a touch salty and the ice cream a bit icy.

Evans and Feildel each scored Tim and Kyle’s entree 10 out of 10, the main 10 out of 10, and the dessert 8 out of 10.

Rival teams agreed, giving Tim and Kyle a combined score of 44 out of 50. All the teams except David Vu and Betty Banks scored them 9 out of 10.

In a bizarre bit of gamesmanship, David and Betty gave Tim and Kyle eight out of 10.

The table fired up early in the night when Tyson Murr claimed that the other teams’ food had all been ordinary.

Now viewers will get to see whether Tyson and sister Amy live up to their boasts. They are the next team to cook.
