HE IS a Home and Away tragic all the way from the UK who thinks actor Samara Weaving, who played Indi on the soap, is a “goddess”.

Mercifully, when savvy producers hook the two up for a date on hit reality romance show First Dates tonight, single Englishman Mark manages not to follow the script too much and utter the words “stone the flamin’ crows” as he sees double.

Instead the Brighton-born restaurant manager uses schoolboy French to impress 21-year-old aspiring journalist Bree, temporarily distracting her from the fact he’s a Summer Bay obsessive.

She’s not such a fan, and when a clearly smitten Mark asks her has anyone ever told her she looks like Weaving ventures “ … is that … Indi? ... oh dear”.

“He was kind of obsessed with Home and Away …” Bree tells the cameras.

“I fell in love in 10 seconds,” Mark confesses.

While the date doesn’t quite go to script, Bree does brighten up considerably when Mark confesses in five years he’d like to be a fireman, rather than be cast as the newest River Boy on the soap.

First Dates, an unexpected ratings winner for Channel Seven in its first season, is currently calling for applications for a second season celebrating the car-crash awkwardness of blind dating.
