Sam Armytage has split with her husband of almost four years Richard Lavender.
The one-time breakfast star moved out of Lavender’s Berrima homestead in the Southern Highlands several weeks ago following the breakdown of their relationship.
Sources close to the equestrian businessman said the couple’s seemingly idyllic relationship ended as a result of tensions between first-time bride Armytage and Lavender’s adult children.
The businessman, who is in his 60s, has two adult daughters from his first marriage.

Armytage confirmed the split to the Daily Telegraph.
“Yes Richard and I have separated. All breakups are hard, but it’s somewhat lessened by the fact it’s amicable and we wish the best for each other,” she said.
“I appreciate you respecting our privacy. I won’t be making any further comment.”
Armytage, who recently joined Nine’s stable as host of the Golden Bachelor, is believed to have been bunkering down at her Sydney investment property since separating from Lavender.
The couple were last sighted together in public in September at Sydney Airport after flying in from Queensland where they had reportedly spent time at Noosa.
Sources claim Armytage, 48, has struggled coming to terms with the likelihood she might never become a mother.
It was rumoured she and Lavender had been hoping to start a family together.
The couple met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in 2019.
“I remember seeing her and I got this really nice feeling. I thought, that’s my girl,” Lavender told Sunrise host David Koch on Armytage’s last day on Seven’s Sunrise program in 2020.
“One of her old school friends was staying with me and the next morning I was cooking breakfast. She (the friend) came into the kitchen and said, ‘Can I give you a hand?’ And I said, ‘Yes you can, you can get me Sam Armytage’s phone number.’”
The couple’s tied the knot in a private ceremony on New Year’s Eve 2020.
Armytage said she felt a “connection” with Lavender immediately.
Mr Lavender declined to comment when approached by News.com.au. on Thursday.
