‘F**king leave’: Brutal end for Block contestant Kylie

Clashing with trades, contestants and Scott Cam before fleeing into the night — Kylie’s time on The Block came to a bitter end on Sunday.

“I said wrap it up”: Kylie fumes at Scott Cam

There were extraordinary scenes on Sunday’s episode of The Block, as contestants fronted up for the final round of judging of the season.

But in a brutal end to her time on The Block, contestant Kylie kicked her team of tradies out, railed against the judges and host Scott Cam, then fled into the night barefoot after threatening the show’s crew.

She finished the episode with a promise: She will not return for auction day, even if it means she forfeits any profits from the season.

Here’s how all the drama unfolded …

“Leave”: Kylie kicks out her team

The night before the final reveal, as Kylie, Brad and their team of trades raced to get their garden space ready for judging, Kylie suddenly ordered everyone out of her house.

“F**king leave it, all of you. I want everyone gone, I’m not kidding,” she told them, before instructing her husband to “get them OUT. GET. THEM. OUT. Tell them to leave, I don’t want their help.”

Brad was tasked with going back out to their stunned team of labourers and ordering them to stop work and go home.

Kylie offered a bizarre explanation for the decision to send home their team of helpers: “I just feel like everyone is against us.”

The next morning, as host Scott Cam called “tools down” for the last time, all contestants came together to celebrate their hard work – except Kylie, who was nowhere to be seen.

One revealing on-camera confession gave some insight into why Kylie might have had such a tough time this season: “Brad and I came on The Block for a holiday. We’re always working, always being parents,” she said.

She also revealed that she and her husband keep their finances separate, and while his business is “very successful”, she lives pay cheque to pay cheque and was eager to make some money out of The Block.

After what Brad called the “hardest week” they’ve had on The Block, the couple received tough feedback from the judges, who noted that their front yard appeared unfinished.

Shaynna Blaze didn’t hold back, saying their outdoor areas needed “more thought and planning”, while Marty Fox said it felt like they’d “checked out”.

That sparked this very tense exchange between Kylie and Scott Cam:

Kylie: Alright, let’s wrap it up.

Scott: What’s that?

Kylie: I said, wrap it up.

Scott: Kylie, I’m not going to wrap it up, because this is part of the deal, unfortunately. We’re reading out feedback, and it’s the last feedback you’re going to get from these judges on your house. So I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t tell me to wrap it up.
Kylie: I really couldn’t care. [under her breath] I f**king hate this guy...

While the judges finished on a positive note, saying the couple should be proud of the house they’d created, Kylie fumed that their feedback was a “f**king joke”.

And there was more drama when the judges’ scores were revealed.

“I’m leaving, I’m not dealing with this s**t,” Kylie muttered when she saw Darren Palmer had given them a seven out of 10.

She also railed against her fellow contestants, who “don’t even need money”.

“I need to go home and make money,” she said.

“I’m wasting my time here … it’s as simple as that.”

“She’s legging it”: Kylie bails, barefoot

And there was yet more drama when the final result was revealed, with Kylie and Brad coming a distant fifth with 26 points out of 40.

As the other contestants rushed to embrace the week’s winners, Courtney and Grant, Kylie immediately stormed out of the room with Brad following close behind.

There was only one problem: Scott Cam wasn’t actually finished addressing the teams, and the visibly annoyed host asked producers to bring them back.

But it was too late – Kylie was off, threatening to “break the f**king camera” if the crew kept filming her.

Heels off, she walked barefoot down a dark road into the night, the crew following behind and telling her they had a duty of care to make sure she was safe.

Then she started running.

“She is legging it, barefoot, down the middle of the road – we need a producer and a car, NOW,” a crew member could be heard saying.

And run she does, off into the night barefoot.

Brad then set out in a car along with two female members of production to try find his wife.

Eventually they discovered her on the side of a pitch black road and coaxed her into the car for her own safety.

Alone with her husband in the car, she told him she wanted to finish up as quickly as possible, leave, and never return – even if that meant getting nothing out of the season.

“I don’t want to come back for auction, I don’t want to come back and have to deal with them. I don’t.”

Kylie and Brad had had a rollercoaster season on The Block from the start, but tensions exploded over the past week as a “flirting” controversy played out on camera.

Kylie heard her husband making “inappropriate” comments to fellow contestant Mimi and briefly fled the show to return home to Cairns.

While she soon came back to the production, it didn’t mean she’d forgiven her husband.

“Just me talking to you does not mean I’m OK, just so you know. This is us being separated. We’re officially single people,” she told him.

The Block auction day is expected to take place on Saturday November 9, with the season finale to come the following evening on Nine.
