Big Brother Australia 2025 winner Coco reveals ‘brutal’ reality after win

She emerged victorious with a $135,000 cash prize - but then single mum Coco faced a difficult new challenge last night.

NSW single mum Coco emerged victorious as the winner of Big Brother Australia on Monday night, picking up a $135,000 cash prize for her efforts.

The 30-year-old mum of three won out over runner-up, 30-year-old WA primary school teacher Emily.

And speaking to news.com.au today, Coco revealed that her reunion with her three young children was short-lived after 30 days in the Big Brother house.

“So, I got to spend about 20 minutes with my kids. That was brutal: Having to say hi, give them a big hug and then let them go again,” she said.

“I had to reassure them: I’m not going back into the house. But yeah, [after the finale] I was put into a car pretty much immediately and taken to where I’m staying.”

Coco said it was hard for her children to understand why they couldn’t spend more time with her once she was out of the house - their proper reunion will come only after she’s completed the usual post-Big Brother media whirlwind.

“They were crying... it was an emotional rollercoaster. My little boy, I could just feel his hand on my arm squeezing so tight and not wanting to let go. I’m going to be back with them tomorrow and I’m not going to let them go,” she said.

Coco said her children were upset their reunion only lasted 20 minutes before she was whisked off again.

Coco said she hadn’t given too much thought about how she’ll use the prize money, but knew one thing for sure: “It’s just for my kids. It’s all going to go towards their future.”

Earlier in Monday’s finale, host Mel Tracina presented the final five remaining contestants – Bruce, Colin, Coco, Allana and Emily – with a tempting offer.

Big Brother was offering up a brand-new car worth more than $40,000 to one housemate, with a catch: They would have to self-eliminate and lose out on any chance of winning the season and picking up the $135,000 prize money.

“Do you want a one in five shot at $135,000, or do you want to take fate into your own hands?” Tracina asked.

Allana and Bruce both wanted to take themselves out of the running for the win and take the car – but with both of them interested, they had to play a game of chance to find out who would actually get the huge consolation prize.

Alanna won the car, with Bruce evicted shortly after, settling for fourth place in the competition. Colin was next to be eliminated, leaving Emily and Coco in the house for an all-female top two.

Colin’s connection in the house with fellow contestant Holly was one of the dominant storylines this season, and after his eviction, he had a simple message for Holly, present at the finale after being evicted a week earlier: “I love you.”

The grand finale came a night after fans were shocked over the brutal way one housemate was evicted from the house in the penultimate episode.

Housemate Edward Doak was sent packing in tears during Sunday’s episode after he was booted off the reality show in a surprise twist.

Each housemate – who have had zero contact with the outside world for the last four weeks – were sent letters from home written by their loved ones. Each letter was read aloud by the housemates and, understandably, there were tears all around.

Edward was the last to get his letter, which was read to him by fellow housemate Bruce.

The note started off as lovingly as the other letters, with Edward’s “mum” telling him how proud she was of him on the BB house.

However, the tone suddenly took a turn and it was soon discovered that the letter was not from home but was written by Big Brother himself to tell Edward he had been eliminated following a public vote.
