THEY look like new best friends, or sisters even, but just how long that love will last between Jessica Marais and Natalie Bassingthwaighte on Ten’s second season of hit series, The Wrong Girl is the question.
Bassingthwaighte has joined the show’s cast as Gillian, a pastry chef and ex-girlfriend of Marais’ on-screen love, played by Logie-winning best new talent, Rob Collins.
And as romantic dramas go, there’s nothing like a TV love triangle to keep things interesting.
The Rogue Traders singer and former Neighbours star has form playing the temptress, as one of Ramsay Street’s most famous bad girls, Izzy.
But the actor was giving nothing away, when asked about her role in this latest love story.
“I don’t think I want to give too much away and just let the viewers see what unfolds. It will be a fascinating relationship between the three of us,” she told News Corp Australia, “so tease, tease, tease, tease away.”
When her role was announced earlier this month she confirmed she would arrive in the drama “at a really pivotal point of Jack [Collins] and Lily’s relationship, so it’s just going to be a really great storyline between us all.”
“We’ve had a read through and the cast is phenomenal. They are such great, down-to-earth people ... it was really relaxed and energetic. There is great chemistry among the whole group.”
Filming continues in Melbourne, with new episodes expected to air on Ten later this year.
