Married At First Sight bosses edited out a shocking scene thought to be too brutal to air on the show, according to an insider.
MAFS groom Tony Mojanovski hasn’t been having much luck with his bride, Morena, even forgetting her name at one point.
But it turns out there were scenes where he apparently stunned his co-stars by revealing that he’s still in love with his ex-wife, who he wants to get back with.
“He literally said, ‘I’m still in love with my wife,’ and you could hear a pin drop,” the source told Daily Mail.
Morena apparently just “just sat there, completely blindsided. She had no idea he felt that way.”
“The experts were shocked too, but instead of digging into it the conversation was just moved along. The producers must have told them not to make a big deal out of it.”
The insider added: “He was telling people off-camera he wasn’t crazy about the age gap. He thought he’d be matched with someone younger.”
Another scene thought to have been left on the cutting room floor included Tim Gromie “storming” out of the commitment ceremony.
“You probably won’t see him again after that. He literally ran off and disappeared after the break,” the source said.
“Tim was sitting at the other end of the table [at the dinner party] telling everyone that Katie was just there for clout,” continued the insider.
“She didn’t even know until Paul [Antoine, another contestant] came down and told her. That’s when she got up and stormed out in tears. John basically called him out and said, ‘What’s wrong with using a platform to inspire people?’ And Tim had no response. He just slumped back into his seat – it was a complete mic-drop moment,” the insider added.
Meanwhile, Tim was busted for using old photos on dating apps to appear more flattering to potential partners.
The controversial participant on the current MAFS season was outed in a TikTok video referencing the Victoria Facebook group ‘Sis, are we dating the same guy?’ – an online community designed to catch out men and their bad behaviour on dating apps such as Tinder.
In the group, which boasts 24,000 members, users are encouraged to post screenshots of men they’ve met on the apps and their shocking interactions.
TikToker @jet_set_gypsea shared some of the comments from users who did not hold back in outing Tim, who has been under fire in the past week for his treatment of bride Katie on the show, saying she isn’t “short, blonde or brunette, and petite” enough for his liking.
“My friend recently went on a date with him in Melbourne,” one user shared. “He catfished her and said he looked very different from his pics.”
