Kathy Griffin disses Amal Clooney on Fashion Police debut

KATHY Griffin made her buzzed-about Fashion Police debut in the US on Monday night — and she dared to dis George Clooney’s leading lady.

KATHY Griffin made her buzzed-about Fashion Police debut in the US on Monday night — but it was anything but memorable.

While no one can replace former host Joan Rivers and her outrageous commentary, Griffin will have to step up the snark if she wants to keep the top job.

Amal Clooney

George Clooney’s new wife Amal copped plenty of heat for her white gloves.

George Clooney’s leading lady knows how to make jaws drop — but not always for the right reasons. The brunette beauty hit the Golden Globes in a demure Dior dress with a pair of ill-fitting white gloves.

As Griffin’s pick for worst-dressed, she ultimately compared the human rights lawyer’s controversial accessory to a prop in a porn movie: “I thought it was weird she had those gloves that reminded me of the porn scene where the guy goes home and there’s the naughty dishwasher.”

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley’s insect dress stood out for all the wrong reasons.

Though Chanel and Knightley are typically a winning combination, that wasn’t the case at the Golden Globes. The mum-to-be sported an elaborate piece boasting butterflies and fringe — a look that made Griffin “laugh in all the wrong places.”

“I love that it looks like something out of Silence of the Lambs, all those butterflies,” said Griffin. “It looked like somebody’s doily.”

Emma Stone

Emma Stone’s jumpsuit divided fashion critics.

Stone’s Lanvin jumpsuit dazzled on the red carpet Sunday night. And while Fashion Police vets Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne gushed over the Birdman star’s choice, Griffin was far from impressed.

“I feel like she’s wearing everything you can get at a mall,” dissed Griffin. “Her top is like an arm cuff, she had a pillow attached to her pants. It was like everything you can get from the Glendale Galleria.”

And her three lamest:

Claire Danes

Claire Danes

Danes usually brings her A-game to the carpet, but Sunday night wasn’t one her best showings. The Homeland star wore an intricate Valentino piece that didn’t win over the Fashion Police — particularly Griffin.

“She falls into my category of ‘It Kills Me,’” said Griffin. “I love this dress, it has all kinds of interesting things going on, but she’s just a pill.”

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey’s turquoise number was likened to a mermaid.

The singer’s teal Travilla dress was one of the worst looks of the night — but the best Griffin could muster was: “It’s awful.”

She followed that up with a tepid, “It’s like that bridesmaids’ dress you’re forced to wear.”

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington’s metallic number wasn’t a winner.

The Scandal siren knows how to spice things up stylewise, but her pink and purple metallic Mary Katrantzou number failed to wow anyone. The only thing more forgettable than the look, however, was Griffin’s throwaway comment about it:

“It looks like one of those dresses that would have lost someone on Project Runway.”
