Abbie Chatfield has been called “brave” for sharing her ordeal when trying to get a new drivers licence photo that turned out less than flattering.

Abbie Chatfield was left mortified after a recent visit to her local Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) office didn’t go as planned.

In a hilarious video shared on Instagram, the TV and radio personality explained that she needed to make a slight change to her drivers licence but when she arrived, she was told she needed a new licence and photo altogether.

Only problem is, Chatfield rocked up to the centre fresh from a gym session and skin needling procedure whereby a dermatologist punctures the skin with small needles to stimulate collagen production.

The procedure can leave a patient skin’s red for at least 24 hours after the treatment, as Chatfield can attest.

“So today I got skin needling done on my face and it’s pretty hectic. And after I got that done, I had to change something on my driver’s license,” she said in the clip.

“So I went to get it changed and I was informed I had to get a new photo done, and I was like, ‘That’s fine. Whatever, who really cares?’” she added, before showing her followers her new licence photo.

Chatfield says she can’t get over how bad she looks in the picture.

“Look at what the f***ing outcome is, OK?’ she said, mortified over the unflattering photo.

In the pic, the host of BINGE dating series FBoy Island Australia could be seen unlike her usual glam self, with her skin looking red and swollen.

“A seccie [security guard] is going to look at this and say, ‘What the f**k, love?’ And what the f**k love, indeed. Oh my god, oh my god. I can’t get over it.”

She later tried to explain why her photo looked like a mugshot.

Chatfield further expressed her disappointment in the Instagram caption, writing: “I wanted to be a relaxed girlie who didn’t care if she had her licence photo taken after gym and then skin needling with her hair in a rats nest but I can hear security guards roasting me already.”

Her followers were quick to point out that her photo looks more like a mugshot than a driver’s licence photo.

“Hahahahaha Abbie why is this a mug shot?!?!???” asked one follower, while another agreed: “It’s giving mugshot vibes.”

Others thought the photo was more a before and after shots from a night out.

“It’s giving Saturday night VS Sunday morning and I’m LOVING IT hahahahh,” one wrote, while another praised: “Abbie you’re literally so brave for putting this on the internet.”
