GAME Of Thrones fans across the world want to know when the final season will return to our screens — and it will be in late April.
Online fan sites had speculated it will return in March, April or early May. Some had speculated that it would follow a week after season two of Big Little Lies, the acclaimed HBO series starring Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep.
Of course the return date for Australia will actually be the following day from America and Europe because of the time difference.
Here it is screened by Foxtel, who simulcast it with the American Sunday evening showing at Monday lunchtime and evening.
Foxtel would not comment on an airing date.
But HBO will screen the seven-episode series of Big Little Lies in February, pushing GoT out to April with the most likely date to be April 21 (the 22nd) in Australia.
This could be pushed back a week by HBO to give sufficient “clear air” between its series or because the final season of GoT contains a huge amount of computer-generated effects and production is delayed.
