‘From the Dollar Store’: North West roasts mum Kim Kardashian’s pearl gown at Met Gala

Kim Kardashian’s young daughter North West has roasted her outfit from this year’s Met Gala, saying it looks “fake” and from a cheap store.

North West is as sassy as they come in the latest episode of The Kardashians.

Proving she is Kanye West’s daughter, the opinionated 10-year-old roasted her mum Kim Kardashian’s outfit choices for the Met Gala over the years.

Appointing herself fashion police, North didn’t hold back when discussing Kim’s designer gown from this year’s Met: a Schiaparelli creation that consisted of 50,000 freshwater pearls.

But for North, the look gave off beach vibes instead of Met Gala glam – and she savagely made this critique in front of Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry, who designed the gown.

“There’s way too much gaps in the pearls,” she told Kim and Roseberry. “It looks like she’s a Hawaiian girl with her dress all ripped.”

Kim looked annoyed during the exchange.

North did not hold back.

North went on to say that the “pearls look fake” and the “diamonds ruin” the dress, with Roseberry saying it was his “worst nightmare” to be schooled over his designs.

“I like the pearls. I just don’t like that it looks like from the Dollar Store,” North added.

Kim – who shares three other children with Kanye – could be seen literally pursing her lips together as the critique went on.

“I respect your opinion. Please just be easy on me today,” she told her daughter, who replied:

“I’m not going to lie. I won’t say it at all, if you don’t want me to. But I’m not going to lie.”

North also dissed her mum’s black Balenciaga ensemble that covered her entire face and body at the 2021 Met Gala, saying Kim “looks like you’re getting covered by a plastic bag and you’re suffocating and can’t see”.

In a later scene, Kim tells North she needs to learn a better way to share her opinions without offending people.

“There’s a way to be honest and not hurt people’s feelings, and I want you to learn that because there’s a way to say, ‘No, I might not love that …’”

But North just mocked Kim’s advice and continued to criticise her, but in the nicer tone that Kim suggested.

“North won’t lie, and that’s amazing,” the mum-of-four said in a later confessional. “I’m trying to teach her you don’t need to jump in and annihilate people for no reason. There’s a way to soften it up and not hurt people’s feelings.”
