YOU might think former The Bachelorette star Georgia Love is sick of the sight of red roses, ball gowns and bad manners, but she says watching The Bachelor series with Matty J is somewhat comforting.
As fans might recall, Georgia dumped Matty in the finale for her beau Lee Elliott, and the couple have been going strong ever since.
“It is a little bit weird because this is the first series since I was on and reminds me of where I was at the point, and how far Lee and I have come since then,” she says.
“It’s a strange feeling. When I think about the journey that I went on to find love, it’s very surreal. I mean last year, I was sitting at an office desk in Tassie (where she worked as a TV reporter).”
Georgia returned to Melbourne to be closer to her ailing mother, and despite moving back under difficult circumstances, she has embraced the city — though Tasmania has “half my heart”.
“It wasn’t a big exciting move back, it was to be with my mum, but I am now so happy to be here. It’s so wonderful to see my family and friends on any given day of the week rather than having to plan,” she says.
“Also, my partner Lee is here, so that’s a happy coincidence,” she says.
“We could have a normal dating relationship. We’re in the same city, there’s no pressure to rush into moving in together.”

Georgia recently moved into a top-floor apartment with an outdoor terrace in St Kilda.
“That sold it to me, just being able to sit out and look out over the beach is so rewarding.”
She has furnished the house in lots of light hues, with soft pink a noticeable preference.
“I like things to match up,” she says.
“I like picking a palette and finding things to match. My style is quite girlie. I do like a lot of pink, but it’s OK, Lee doesn’t think it’s too girlie.”
